The programme explores the development of the song cycle through the 19th century and into the earliest 21st century and features 4 sections: a selection of songs by Robert Schumann, Faure’s ‘Cinq melodies ‘de venise’’, Ravel’s ‘Cinq melodies populaires grecques’ and Quilter’s ‘Seven Elizabethan Lyrics.
